She taught me how to love, that it isn't something you can see.
In my foolish youth I disagreed, and learned how selfish I could be.
I learned my lesson far too late, I ignored it for too long.
When I realized the mistake I'd made, she was already too far gone.
I'll never see her face again, I'll never get to apologize.
I owe all that I am to her, for the way she opened my eyes.
She's the girl that got away, the one I'll never have.
But she taught me what's important, so I can find my other half.
